Some students who never attend have shown an interest! It's very moving for me.\r\nAs a speech language pathologist, I often get overlooked when funds are given out to the general education instructors. Many of the materials I use are things I have bought over the years and toys that belonged to my daughter (who is now grown and a special education teacher in my district).\r\nduring our speech therapy sessions, we are using a core board for communication and to model 3-4 word utterances. You'll be happy to know that the most requested items are the ones I received from you. \r\nThank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping to provide things that my students are intrigued by and are willing to use language to ask for! Your contribution has sparked a world of creativity and endless possibilities for our young artists. As they worked on bringing their journals to life, we witnessed firsthand the joy and excitement that comes with self-expression. One student's eyes lit up when they asked, \"Can I write my own stories in here?\" – a question that perfectly captures the essence of what your donation has made possible.\r\n\r\nYour investment in our students' artistic journeys has yielded remarkable results. We observed a student who had been struggling to stay focused in other classes become completely absorbed in the journal-making process, working diligently and happily throughout. This transformation was a testament to the power of creative expression and the impact of your generosity. As our students headed into the summer, they had a tangible tool to nurture their imagination, record their thoughts, and continue exploring their artistic voices.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the potential of our students and empowering them with the tools to unlock their creativity. Your support has made a lasting impact, and we're honored to have you as part of our educational community. We're excited to see the amazing stories, artwork, and ideas that will emerge from these sketchbooks, and we know that your contribution will continue to inspire our students for years to come.","fullyFundedDate":1743375330427,"projectUrl":"project/scholastic-sketchbooks/9077262/","projectTitle":"Scholastic Sketchbooks","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Langley","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9029162_orig.png?crop=1105,1105,x264,y34&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1737653756525","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9029162"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_53171","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":373,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":81,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":78,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":2,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":53.4,"schoolId":53171,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Vera Kilpatrick Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Vera Kilpatrick Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/arkansas/texarkana-arkansas-school-district-7/vera-kilpatrick-elementary-school/53171"}
