My Students

We are a rural Title I funded school. I have students who come from a low socioeconomic area. I would love to transform my traditional classroom into one of the creative learning areas. I have students with ADHD and autism who would benefit from learning In this kind of environment!

My Project

I am hoping that by adding some flex seating options in our classroom, students can have a say in what works best for their type of learning and it will help with negative behaviors and lack of focus in the classroom. Having a Flex seating option, everyone can stay on task and increase their academic learning opportunities. The storage of math and science manipulatives after cleaning and sanitizing, while keeping items separated has been a struggle. I am hoping that adding quality storage containers will help keep things organized and separate during and after use. I think it also will help students be able to help in this process as well which allows for social-emotional growth and becomes a positive experience by participating in keeping things clean and organized.
