My Students

Let's synergize! My school is close to becoming a Title I school. Seeing the need for increased structure and life skills learning for our students, people in our community, as well as staff members, came together with a plan to help our student population as best as we can. With that in mind, we became a Leader in Me school! In the time we have implemented the program, we are seeing a change in our students' attitudes about school and how to interact with others. Our students are becoming leaders in their own learning and in their own lives.

The students at my school are not only developing necessary academic skills but are also developing necessary work and life skills to help them be successful adults.

Our teachers and staff have a common language when guiding students through social interactions. With this type of guidance, we intend for students from our elementary school to be ready with communication skills and leadership qualities that will make them highly employable as they enter the workforce.

My Project

I currently have two, but only two, Kore Patented Wobble Seats in my classroom and my students flock to them. Every day is a race to the stools! Adding more Kore Patented Wobble Seats as well as the Balance Ball seats will give my students more options for seating while learning. I want my students to be excited to come to school every day and more relaxed in their learning environment. We see more and more students coming into education with mental health challenges. Just having a more comfortable learning environment can make a difference for these students.

I have already seen a difference in student engagement with the use of flexible seating in a classroom.

Many of my fellow teachers have created flexible seating arrangements and the results are incredible. Students seems more eager to enter the classroom, more focused on their tasks, and more comfortable in a learning environment. I want that in my classroom!
