Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Nearly all of the students in my classroom are from low-income households and thus face many challenges. I currently teach a diverse group of individuals with so much potential. Most of my students have learning challenges because they are English language learners and have learning difficulties such as dyslexia, LD, ADHD, ADD, ED, Autism, Deaf, or Speech impediments.

Although my students face many challenges, they are creative, thoughtful, full of questions, and most importantly, eager to learn.

They are also loving, caring, and, best of all, respectful. My students love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box.

Each day I am welcomed with bright smiles and happy attitudes. They come prepared to learn new things and take brave chances to grow both personally and academically. They are, without a doubt, my inspiration. They have made me want to become a better teacher.

My Project

Help me give my students flex seating by means of seat cushions as a way to reward them for achieving their Accelerated Reader points every six weeks.

I want for my students to be motivated to read because I truly believe the more you read the easier things will be and the more you will understand.

The seats we use in the classroom are very hard and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, we need to sit on them all day; Monday through Friday. We could the comfort from the seat cushions and office chair. I feel like they will be motivated to read because they will want to be able to use the seat cushions. Please consider helping. Thank you.
