Help me give my students a comfortable space to work with wobble stools and lap desks and have fun exciting incentives to work towards like books, balls and straws!
Our students are coming from very diverse backgrounds and wanting a safe space to learn. I love creating a space that is "home away from home" in the classroom and flexible seating will help do that. We have a large diversity in terms of income levels in our school district. My students are very active students, involved in things from church to baseball to dance and football. There is also a wide variety in their interests at school so some students excel in certain areas more than others which we celebrate rather than discourage.
Our school strives on student success and moving to what is best-practice for our students.
It is my goal to instill a love for learning and responsibility with the students in my class every year. I have always had a passion for teaching, and I have found my "home" in fourth grade. My students and I love to joke around, share stories, and come together as a family.
My Project
These materials will help give students options in how they want to learn! Whether on the floor, in a chair, or however they learn best! Chairs help the students sit up right, the clipboards are for those who want to lay down. Flexible seating allows students to take ownership of their own learning and advocate for themselves.
Also included are fun incentives to help those who need a little extra motivation to get work done such as scratch cards or toys.
I also included fun materials to read! They are interested in graphic novels and series! I want to instill a passion for reading with my students and meeting them at their needs and interests are a must!
