This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

As a physical education teacher and coach at an inner-city, urban school district, it can be difficult to find new activities for students to try. Each semester, combined with my co-teachers, we teach approximately 300 students. Many of the students in our school are used to doing the same types of sports and physical activities every year. They also do not have as many safe areas to visit to try new activities when they go home or throughout the summer months.

To increase social distancing and create a "new normal" when we return to school, station work may be very important in our classes.

Finding ways to incorporate new activities with low numbers can be a challenge, but these HotSpots, can help create fitness station ideas.

My Project

As we return to school and have a "new normal" for students and teachers alike, it will be a challenge in Physical Education class to have activities for a large group of students to participate in, while staying in small groups or teams.

By purchasing these HotSpots, we will be able to clearly mark individual fitness stations when we are restricted to one gymnasium on a day that we may not be able to spread out outside.

Although these spots won't cover every task students may be asked to do, they will definitely help with creating a large variety of stations!
