Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Michelle Obama says, "Exercise is not an option; for our kids to be successful academically, they need to be successful physically." Help us keep our kids active! We need new soccer balls and basketballs for our students!

Many of our students live in a high poverty area.

Over 90% of my class receives free or reduced priced breakfast and lunch. Our school actively participates in a Gang Reduction and Intervention Program. Despite these challenges, they are also bright, happy scholars who love coming to school and are eager to learn. Our playground is a safe place for them to play and gain valuable life lessons.

My Project

Soccer balls and basketballs will engage and energize our students to get fit and have fun! Active play enhances physical development and teaches our students to enjoy physical activity and hopefully commit to being active throughout their lifetime. A ball cart is essential to keep our equipment organized.

This project is important because our students deserve high quality, engaging, active play resources that encourage both organized and individual play.
