Fish Tank Dreams

Help me give my students a new fish tank to help support their desire to learn more about nature and foster their caretaking responsibilities!

My Project

The children in my class have begun showing an interest in how life works around them - we bring in different nature books and talk about animals and nature in general, but one day a child had mentioned to me that they would really like a pet to take care of but they couldn't have one at home. We are requesting an Aqueon Aquarium Fish Tank Starter Kit, River Rock Stones, Silk Plant Set and more.

I want to embrace the fact that so many of our children are interested in learning more about wildlife by introducing a class pet!

The fish tank and accessories, as well as food, listed in this project will be the perfect set up for our classroom. Getting a fish will not only introduce an opportunity to learn about aquatic life, but help harbor a sense of responsibility and caretaking skills that my children are already exhibiting. A fish may seem like a simple and ordinary request, but it truly does introduce a new experience for children who may not have the opportunity at home. Thank you for your interest in supporting the hopes of many curious five year olds!
