First Year Teacher in Need of a Friendly Classroom
My students need a welcoming and colorful environment in which to learn. Curtains, motivational posters, organizational items will all help create a positive learning environment for my students.
Our students come from several diverse backgrounds. 95% of our students are low-income, they speak several different languages, and many are diverse learners. Despite this, our students are very hard working children. Despite this, our students come to school every day ready to learn and eager to take on anything that comes their way. Several of our students come to school in need of love and care.
They crave knowledge and they take ownership of their learning.
Our goal as a school is to ensure that our students enter and leave every day knowing they have been cared for, and this is demonstrated by creating a thoughtful and well-decorated classroom.
My Project
The use of classroom decorations will have several positive outcomes for my students. They will feel more welcomed and cared for knowing that their teacher wants them to feel comfortable.
School supplies such as markers, crayons, notebooks, and pencils will allow students to show off their creative side.
String lights, curtains, and posters will help make the classroom environment feel comforting and warm. Materials like magnet squares will help allow me to hang my students work since most of my classroom has magnetic surfaces. Students will feel proud to have their work displayed. A printer will allow my students to bring their projects to life by using color and making copies for their peers to see. Smaller items like a variety of colored dry erase markers will help me color code notes and important information to help my students who are visual learners. Even though these materials may seem small, they will go a long way in my classroom!
I am a first-year teacher who recently graduated from college. I have wanted to give my students the friendly and inviting environment that they deserve, but have struggled financially to do so. By donating to our project, students will have a desire to learn and a friendly environment to do it in.
