My students need the opportunity to be exposed to an assortment of learning styles and texts. My class tends to thrive best when I model reading for them using big books on an easel for support.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach Kindergarten to 22 bright, young minds. Kindergarten is where students receive most of the foundational skills they need to carry them throughout the rest of their educational careers. Students are learning to do basic math, read, write and combine them all to complete work and tasks independently.
My students and I both love that sparkle in their eye when they can finally read a word that they've seen around the classroom all year!
They love learning and exploring new things and are true sponges ready to soak in the world!!!
My Project
All students deserve access to a wide range of text and learning styles! The materials I have selected: clipboards, bean bags, floor cushions, leveled text and big books will allow the students in my classroom to be exposed to different text both whole group and independently. The flexible seating will allow students to learn in a way that best suits them so that they are not restricted to just a desk and chair. Learning can happen anywhere and with your help I'm hoping my classroom will be a place where students can thrive in that knowledge and do their best learning!
When students have a choice in where they work they are more likely to focus and do their best with limited disruptive behaviors!
