My students are a group of energetic first graders who come to school each day eager to learn. They attend a high poverty, Title I school in rural Georgia. Over 85% of my children live in poverty. Our elementary school is a low income, rural school.
Regardless of our socioeconomic status, these students are young, ambitious, and smart.
Despite their hardships, my students are eager to learn and do their best. They want to be in school because they want to learn as much as they can so they can be successful. I teach an amazing group of first graders who come to school each day with smiles on their faces.
My Project
The Dash Robot will be a welcome addition to our classroom. The robot is made for young students to teach them coding skills. It will also teach them critical thinking and problem solving skills that will support learning throughout the classroom.
My students will one day have a job that doesn't even exist yet!
The Dash Robot is one tool that can prepare students for these new and challenging jobs.
Students will learn to code the robot and to take him through challenging obstacles. My students will rock and roll with their robot and xylophone! With Dash's advanced features, he can grow and challenge them for many years to come. We know that STEM education is the way of the future.
