This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students are eager to learn through hands-on ways. They are creative and imaginative. They seek to understand the world and create new things. Many of my students face hardships associated with low socioeconomic status. Often they do not have access to resources such as books, activities and/or computers that allow them an interactive experience while learning literacy. My students deserve to have a variety of opportunities to grow and learn with the necessary materials for them to be successful!

My Project

As 1st graders, my students are always on the move! Each student has their own unique learning style and this year my class is asking for Wobble chairs to provide alternative seating options of some of our friends! The chairs will allow our friends to wiggle while they work.

It is my job, as their teacher, to find a way to provide materials that meet the needs of all my learners!

Through these seating options students will build their core muscles, while also increasing their balance, and stimulating their mind. Our students need these chairs as an option for flexible seating. My students will be able to learn where they are most comfortable, which will lead to higher concentration and engagement.
