Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our first grade classroom is full of imagination, laughter, and excitement. We are a very fun and energetic class that learns Spanish through reading, working on wonderful science and social studies projects, creating our own fiction and non-fiction texts and many other interesting activities!
This is my fourth year teaching in the USA and I am honored to teach a group of wonderful first graders.
My students spend half of their day learning 1st grade subjects in Spanish as part of the dual immersion program at our school. There are 44 children, aged 6-7 who are simultaneously learning core subjects in English and in Spanish. They all love learning through our projects!
My Project
Our school is working to get us more current in terms of technology, which is so essential in preparing students for the future! They provided us with iPads, and a projector but it will really make a big difference if we could have a document camera and a nice storage unit to keep it all safe. This tech cart will help our class to get organized, keep our technology safe, and reclaim our resource area. The document camera will allow my students to access to texts, books or any other materials we work with.
Though the students are wonderful about taking care of technology, making sure that everything is organized, plugged and safe has become a challenge.
