My first graders are a resilient, giving, and inquisitive group. All of my students were affected by the devastation caused by Hurricane Michael. While our community works hard to recover, school is one of the most stimulating and stable places for my young students. They deserve the very best my classroom can provide for stimulating and enhancing their learning experiences. These students are excited to be back at school and are eager to master the first grade standards. They are hard workers, ready to learn!
I strive to maintain an interesting collection of books on a wide variety of reading levels. Books to keep a classroom library fresh and well stocked can be expensive for teachers. This classroom library will be a nice addition to my collection, especially for students who lost books and school supplies in their homes destroyed by Hurricane Michael.
My students are engaged in reading constantly throughout the school day, and when they run out of things to do, they are quick to grab a book.
They love to read on their own and with friends. I read to them constantly, they also love being read to! A first grade classroom cannot have enough books!
