First graders spend a lot of time on the floor. We gather together on the floor for our morning meeting, for whole group discussions, time spent teaching with the smart board, independent reading, and play time. We lost our classroom rug due to water damage from Hurricane Michael. The easy to store and comfortable seats will be a great way for the students to be on the floor, while not being “on the floor”. They will be able to sit as a group or spread out around the room for independent reading or cozy up with a buddy during center work or shared reading.
