In my class store, as rewards, I offer both extrinsic, such as stickers and toys, and intrinsic, such as weekly drawings for lunch with the teacher and Friday VIP, opportunities. I want to streamline another component in my classroom store to expose my students to coins throughout the year.
Students will learn about earning, spending, and saving money all while enjoying prizes.
They will earn a set amount for how many days they stay on green using our classroom management system each week. They will also have the opportunity to earn extra if they go above and beyond in class. Every other week they will be allowed to count and spend their coins on prizes in our class store.
In summary they will be getting a more concrete exposure to coins throughout the year helping them to meet the standard NC.1.MD.5 while also having an incentive for learning and following rules!
