This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a great group of students this year! My first graders are excited about the school year and so am I. All of my students contribute to each lesson by listening actively, participating in discussions as well as group work and completing activities and assignments. We are hoping to soar through the school year with flying colors!
But we are actually limited in resources to help us accomplish our goals.
Our school is located in Detroit, MI where schools are failing academically and financially. I want to be able to give each and every one of my students an environment where they have multiple avenues of learning.
My Project
I have a great group of students that love learning and love to have fun doing so! The use of games and play will help increase their love for learning and keep them from being in their seats for long periods of time. Students can not thrive in a classroom where the teacher lectures them from their seats for an entire day.
Having learning supplies such as pencils, dry erase markers, and paper will help make our learning goals attainable.
In our class we work extremely hard but we always find time for educational games, role playing, learning free time and laughs.
