My Project
This year we have 56 first graders that have diverse learning literacy needs. We are very excited to have so many students who are reading above grade level, and lack the reading materials needed to run successful literacy enrichment activities for these students. We also have a group of students that would benefit immensely from having tactile sensory tools they can manipulate as they learn the basics of phonological and phonemic awareness in our small group interventions.
Chapter books and multi-sensory manipulatives will allow our 56 first graders to have success in their unique enrichment and intervention literacy needs.
We have wonderful parent volunteers willing to come in and help us run advanced enrichment activities as we first grade teachers work on supporting our students with intervention activities. We are very excited to be able to provide instruction and support that meet each students' unique needs, and look forward to being able to use these materials to help each student grow in their reading and writing abilities.
