Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are powerful. My curious, fun, loving students are using their voices to speak on the inequities they witness as they strive for a more equitable community. They have been resourceful during remote learning and their brilliance beamed throughout. They enjoy inclusive books that reflect themselves and push their thinking. They are scientists, mathematicians, artists, and advocates.

My Project

Our students benefit from open play opportunities that lend themselves to language opportunities to practice both expressive and receptive language, sharing, and turn-taking. Providing our students the tools to engage in dramatic play will help support role-playing and building social skills that are essential to practice after surviving through the first part of a global pandemic. Our students also need help building stamina, self-regulation skills, and body awareness in order to attend to lessons. These fidget tools and seating options will support students as they attend to academic content.
