My Students

Combining reading and technology into a learning activity! What Fun! Hot Dot products engage our at risk and students whose first language is not English while providing solid learning activities that reinforce skills taught in the classroom.

Our school is located in a high poverty area according to the 2000 Census.

47% of our school is white, with many students whose first language is not English. We have dedicated teachers and committed parents, but very little funding to be able to purchase even basics...such as paper and ink. It is a treat for students to have access to fun learning activities that reinforce what they are being taught during reading time.

My Project

Hot Dots and the electronic pens provides our students with extra practice that can be done in small groups or individually, allowing for students to do work on reading comprehension and phonics during center times. These activities allow students to self check work.

Our students will have additional opportunities to practice phonics and reading comprehension, basic building blocks to their foundation at school!

This will engage and empower students to "learn as they work."
