My first grade students are energetic, excited and easy to love. They love to please other people and are so proud of themselves when they succeed at something. There is never a dull moment in our room. Each child adds a bit of personality and uniqueness to our first grade family.
My students come from a high-poverty neighborhood.
A majority of my students face struggles that you cannot begin to imagine. Our school is, often times, the safest place for our students to be. We also have a large English Language Learner population. Despite all of the hardships and challenges my students face, they always come to school ready to learn!
My Project
Starting a new school year can be exciting, fun and sometimes nerve-racking for my new students. My students need desk name tags, folders, pencil boxes and dry erase markers to start the school year.
Your donation will allow my first graders to start the school year worry free!
We will use dry eraser markers during math and reading on a daily basis. The use of dry erase markers will help the students to be engage when working. Folders and pencil boxes will allow the students to have a place to keep their belongings. Name tags will be used to help us get to know each other.
These items are used throughout the year on a daily basis. By donating to our class, you will help my students become responsible for their belongings. Academic skills as well as social skills that will carry over to real-life situations is something I focus on as well.
