My Students

My super-diverse classroom speaks over 7 different languages! We are a 1st grade class of 29 eager, enthusiastic students who need some books to read while they do distance learning. 100% of the students in our school receive free breakfast and lunch. My students work really hard despite the challenges they face in their lives and are a unique and energetic bunch of learners!

My Project

One thing that my students are missing out on while they are learning at home is art! When we were in school in person I made sure that we incorporated art, especially drawing into as much of our day as possible. Although we've provided our students with workbooks and textbooks, the thing they are lacking is materials to express themselves artistically. I want my students to be able to apply their learning to drawings and illustrations. They can take digital pictures of their work to share with each other online!
