Help me give my students a truly memorable art show night and a chance to be proud of themselves, an opportunity to bond with their families, and feel like the stars of the show!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our students are 40 curious and vibrant children from Cincinnati, Ohio, aged 3-5. They are all eligible for head start funding on the basis of low income. 5 other children are in a hearing impaired unit and 10 are in an autism unit. Our children are creative and eager to learn and share what they can do. They love hands on activities and art. They are excited and grateful for all the diverse experiences the preschool program provides to them.
My Project
Our students need more magical moments to be celebrated. They love to create and make art! Young children often show what they know through creative means. Hosting an art show is a way to show them that their enthusiasm for their work is really honored and valued. There's a certain feeling of pride in having their art displayed and celebrated that many of our students won't experience in other realms of their life because coming from low income families may limit the extra curricular activities available to them. This event is also an awesome way to get families involved at school and make a bonding experience for parents and children. Your donation will help us purchase basic display boards and black table cloths to provide vertical and flat surfaces for displays, labels to attach to the art, cups for refreshments, bowls for snacks and a few balloons/ decor items to make the night magical. The display boards will be able to be used over and over again every year!
