Our classroom is comprised of 20 bright and energetic first graders. Sixty percent of our class either has an Individualized Education Plan or Limited English Proficiency. They enjoy learning new things, being kind to one another and dancing. We are a Title I school located in beautiful Las Vegas.
One hundred percent of our students receive free lunch and breakfast.
Many of our students are English Language Learners. Despite these challenges, the students are hard working, dedicated to their learning and eager to learn the world around them. We need your support. Please consider funding our project we would greatly appreciate it!
My Project
Once a learner always a learner. In order to bring the magic back to my class and teaching I need to enhance my teaching skills, practices and build my teacher tool box. Attending this conference will help give me the tools to engage students, enhance my teaching skills, and build relationships with people who share the same passion as me. Some sessions I intend on attending are Engaging Readers, STEM and Math Adventures. My students will benefit from me attending these seesions because I will bring what I learn into the class. I will learn new strategies to engage students in learning reading and math. Students will learn new ways to decode, comprehend and build fluency in reading. In math, students will learn new ways to solve math problems.
A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination, and instill a love of learning, success is no accident!
To keep up with the ever changing world and and new learning and ideas I need to invest myself so I can bring that knowledge into my classroom to my students and they can in return teach someone else.
