This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My band students need music and folders to create a great first concert experience for next year. The selected music is skill appropriate for my students and will showcase their abilities while beginning to learn how to play in parts.

The goal for the project is to promote perseverance and teambuilding through the preparation of concert band music.

The music in our method book is shorter, and students learn the songs at a much quicker pace. The supplemental concert pieces require more time and effort, thus encouraging my students to grow in their ability to persevere. Students will also work as a team because the music is in parts, and not in unison.

The binders and sheet protectors listed in the materials are needed to help us stay organized. Each concert piece that is passed out to students will be placed in the black binders. The black binders will be taken to the stage for our end of year concert.
