He was so excited that the bari mouthpiece and reeds arrived. \r\n I had a few clarinet students that stopped participating in band because we ran out of reeds and their families do not have the ability to purchase more. Because of your generosity, my students received binders, pencils, pencil pouches, and sheet protectors—materials that may seem simple, but have made a powerful difference in our daily learning.\r\n\r\nAs a Title I school, many of my students do not always have access to basic school supplies. Before this project was funded, some students were sharing materials or trying to keep up without the tools they needed. Now, every student has their own organized binder and supplies, which has completely changed how we function as a choir class.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful moments for me was watching students take ownership of their music folders for the first time. They took time to decorate their covers with their individual style, carefully placed their sheet music into protectors, organized their binders, and treated their materials with pride. That sense of ownership has carried over into rehearsals—students are more prepared, more confident, and more focused. \r\n\r\nThis semester has been a big one for our choir. My students have already performed in our Black History Month program, and they are continuing to prepare for our Spring Concert and their K–6 graduation performance. Because they now have the tools to stay organized and engaged, we've been able to spend more time developing musical skills like tone, expression, and ensemble singing instead of worrying about missing or damaged music.\r\n\r\nYour support didn't just provide supplies—it created equity in my classroom. Every student now has what they need to be successful, and that has allowed them to fully participate in the joy of making music together.\r\n\r\nI am especially grateful for how quickly this project was funded and fulfilled. In less than two weeks, my students went from lacking basic materials to being fully equipped and ready to learn. That immediate impact was incredible to witness.\r\n\r\nThank you for investing in my students, in music education, and in our school community. Your generosity is helping these students grow not only as musicians, but as confident and prepared learners. \r\n\r\nAnd, as a side note, I am personally thankful to you for helping make my very first semester of teaching a successful one. I came into this new chapter of life with a bit of uncertainty (and honestly, fear!) about how to provide ALL my students with what they need to succeed in class, but you have put my mind at ease and restored my faith in humanity!","fullyFundedDate":1770381190688,"projectUrl":"project/choir-success/10076626/","projectTitle":"Choir Success","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Udas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10426017_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1775921110580","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10426017"},{"teacherId":9545150,"projectId":9559026,"letterContent":"Because of your generosity, our classroom feels a little more like home. When the bean bag chairs arrived, my students' faces lit up with excitement. During independent reading time, those cozy spots quickly became the most popular place in the room. For many of my students, having a comfortable place to sit while reading makes a big difference. It helps them slow down, relax, and truly enjoy getting lost in a good book.\r\n\r\nThe laminating pouches and additional supplies you provided have also made a huge impact on our daily learning. They allow me to create hands-on materials that last, so students can use them again and again in literacy centers, small groups, and interactive lessons. My students love working with these durable materials, and it keeps them engaged and excited to participate.\r\n\r\nYour kindness reminds my students that people they may never meet truly care about their education and their success. That message is powerful. My students had no idea what the errand was for other than to go get a box in the office that was too big for me to carry on my own down to our rehearsal space. I could hear my students who were carrying down the box from the hallway filled with excitement. They were telling me we got new stands all the way from the hallway. My students were excited to say the least. We reassigned stand numbers today, and everyone has a working and functional stand. We retired the ones that served us well, but it was time for it be replaced. No one is sharing a stand anymore, which is important for beginner musicians.\r\n I am excited to have concert music that is skill appropriate for my students. My students have much more success in class when they have music that they enjoy and can play. The next month I will be learning the new music and studying the scores so I can provide a great experience for my students.
