My students are all very different but that what makes them so special. Each one of them have different educational needs, physical needs, emotional needs and social needs. However, each one has a special light that brings a great joy to the classroom. My job is to meet all of these needs which at times can be a tricky task.
Our school is in a rural part of the county in the middle of a cotton field.
St Elmo is a title one school, and 95% of our students get free lunch. Due to the low economic status of our area most of our students are not able to enjoy a lot of the most modern educational tools so many students have the privilege of using.
As their teacher it is my job and wish to give them as much opportunity to be successful as possible.
My Project
My students would benefit from being able to work independently on all the great educational apps that are available on tablets. These apps are so engaging and exciting for students. It will put the world at their finger tips and truly individualize their education so much better than the traditional way of teaching.
Tablets will bring better opportunities for practicing fine motor skill especially for my students who have such high physical challenges.
These tablets will also give instant feed back for the students that motivates and challenges them to learn more. I will also be able to use this feed back to improve and refine my instruction to better meet their needs.
