My students are amazing! I teach at a high-poverty school where our students face challenges inside and outside of the classroom; yet, they are hardworking, passionate learners.
Despite all the negatives, my students come to school every day full of energy and ready to learn.
They love moving around the classroom and working with each other to learn new concepts. We work together to make our class a family where everyone belongs. They care about each other and encourage each other to be their best.
My Project
I am asking for five Amazon Fire 7 tablets and protective cases. Students will be able to use educational apps, do internet research, and read digital books with the Fire tablets.
I would like to create a tech center with tablets.
Students will have fun playing educational apps. There are many wonderful, free apps that I can load on the tablets. Students can play multiplication and division games, manipulate fractions, practice cursive, and review parts of speech with Mad Libs, for example.
I would also like to load a QR reader on to the devices. I have lots of math task cards with QR codes. Students do the work on the task card and then scan the QR code to check their answer. Students like them because they think it’s fun to scan the codes and they get immediate feedback.
I also want my students to be able to read digital books. I can buy one copy of a book and share it among all my devices. A digital copy won’t get damaged or lost like a paperback book. My money and my books will go further! Thank you so much for considering my proposal. My students and I appreciate your support!
