My Students

My students are first graders! They are active, silly and bright little humans. We spend our day engaged in learning through play as often as we can. My goal when my students walk into my classroom is to encourage and support each of my students by providing them with the necessary tools and resources needed to build a strong foundation of long-lasting learning. Having access to tablets at their seats brings the world to my students and prepares them for the technological world we live in. These tablets will make a world of difference in our classroom.

My Project

Amazon Fire tablets would benefit my students in a variety of ways! With the use of tablets, students will grow their literacy, mathematics, and technology skills. Students will use the tablets for reading, listening to books, and researching projects. We will use the program, RazKids for personalized phonics instruction and SeeSaw for task-based assignments. As well, students will be able to submit digital assignments easily for grading, saving excess paper from being used. The Amazon Fire tablets can be used to teach basic coding skills using Scratch Jr., an opportunity many students do not have access to. These tablets would give me the ability to adapt materials to meet possible students IEP needs, such as visual and audio adjustments. Overall, the tablets will help make learning personalized, engaging and interactive for my students.

I believe that technology plays a vital role in guaranteeing my students have the opportunity to be 21st-century learners.
