My Project

My students come to school curious but not all the time are they ready to learn. Many families have been hurt by the increase in food prices and in turn many of the families at my school are now facing food-insecurity. Without this basic need being met throughout the day, children are unable to focus on learning. Being young and still processing sensations and feelings within their bodies, it is important to teach students to advocate for themselves rather than turning to other behaviors to express this need. I have thankfully been able to provide great snacks for my class because of generous donors like you! But we are running low on supplies. Please help me to give my students an afternoon snack that interests them, helps them learn about nutrition and health(ier) choices, engages us in conversation about what people around the world eat and then allows them to comfortably finish out the day applying themselves to their studies.
