Fine Motor Skills Guide Young Learners in Everyday Tasks

My Project

Fine Motor Skills involve small muscles working with the brain and nervous system to control movements in areas such as the hands and fingers. Teaching Kindergarteners how to properly hold their pencils requires lots of repetition and practice with small motor objects. The following supplies that I am requesting will help with fine motor strength and will aid their learning in reading, writing, and math. For example, my classroom uses a lot of dry-erase markers on sheet protectors to practice writing sentences and the formation of letters and numbers. Practicing with small materials in a discovery table helps to improve fine motor strength and hand-eye coordination. Fine motor is crucial for developing communication skills (talking, writing, and drawing. It fosters independence and builds confidence and self-esteem.
