Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) and my students, who are mostly non-verbal, enjoy the feel of clay/Play-doh. However, with Play-doh they cannot create something, let it dry to take home to their parents who like to share in their pride of creating something.

With this clay, our students will be able to make a creation that parents can keep for a long time.

Additionally, by sending projects home, we are showing families the progress the child is making in the classroom. Clay and Play-do is sensory friendly to them, making them more willing to work with it and have something to bring home.
