Fine Motor Is the Name of the Game!

Help me give my students everything they need to develop their fine motor skills, including tabletop manipulatives and a new writing center to strengthen those tiny hands!

My Project

Developing fine motor skills can be frustrating for little learners! Before they can learn to write their names they need to play and manipulate to strengthen those tiny muscles.

From play dough tools to a writing center, and all the toys/manipulates in between, we need your help!

Currently, a simple black milk crate holds all of the different writing materials (lacing cards, tracing lamps, stencils, dry-erase boards, letter boards, etc.) that are available for students to play with during centers. I would love to have the milk crate replaced with a writing center desk that allows the writing materials to be easily accessed. The play dough tools would be available each morning, in addition to what would become our morning fine motor tubs. The manipulative library includes a toddler and preschool set so that everyone can build and play with success. Their imaginations can go wild while their fine motor skills develop! Bright and colorful acrylic pegs and pegboards would allow students to create fun designs and patterns while simultaneously working on fine motor skills.

Our public Pre-K program is host to children ages 3-6 with and without special needs. That's a wide range of developmental levels! This project supports multiple classrooms and will provide engaging materials to help our students meet their fine motor milestones and IEP goals!
