Help me give my students a place to sit and hear literature come alive, and the tools to build their foundational knowledge of words.

My Students
My students are, in many respects, average five and six year olds. They are full of energy, silly, and eager to learn everything they can. My students are happy to be at school, and we work very hard to utilize every moment of our day.
One thing that makes my students unique is their access to educational materials.
My students live in a small, rural town. Our community is strong, connected, and hard working. However, living in a rural setting means we do not have access to as many educational resources. We don't have museums, book stores, or enrichment centers. This makes students' time at school absolutely critical. In our time with students, we work tirelessly to provide all the love, safety, and educational support that we can.
My Project
Many of my students have been deprived of social interactions because of COVID-19. We are lacking some basic social skills, such as giving each other personal space. We have velcro dots on floor, but once students are sitting the dots are hidden, and any sense of personal space disappears with them! We need a rug, with clearly defined boundaries so each student can comfortably sit and interact with our lessons.
COVID-19 has created vast needs among our learners.
We have to adapt, adjust, and account for depleted social and educational gains. I would like to provide my students with hands-on alphabet manipulatives. These hands-on materials, such as letter magnets and stamps, will ensure students have cross-hemisphere practice. We know this type of practice to be very effective for long lasting learning.
This project will address both the social and academic needs that are a direct reflection of COVID-19 impact.
