My Students

I have 24 bright, energetic, and busy third graders. My students come from different backgrounds and different life experiences. They are eager to learn and explore. They learn how to work on projects on their own and with each other. They are learning to take more responsibility for their own learning.

My goal is to help children figure out what kind of space they learn best in.

To do this, I am creating workspaces rather than traditional desks and chairs.

I am equipping them with growth mindset skills and challenging them daily. I am also incorporating brain-based emotional learning.

My Project

This is my second year offering flexible seating for my third grade students. After purchasing several options with my own money, I have seen first hand how flexible seating is a game changer for my students. It allows children to work alone or in groups with minimal effort.

They work hard, have better stamina, and stay engaged when they are comfortable.

The items in this project are very much needed as these are the most requested choices.

Flexible seating has transformed my classroom. Students feel empowered and by being able to move in many of the seating choices are able to stay on task longer.
