Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a diverse PreK-6 Title I school of about 420 students.
The students are funny, creative, and curious!
The majority of the students come from around the world, including Africa, and Central and South America. One thing is clear though. They are fascinated by space, rocks, oceans, animals, and big events in history. They get a kick out of learning weird facts and sharing them. And, they never stop asking questions!
My Project
Students are endlessly curious! They are fascinated by World War II. They can't wait to explore the hidden depths of the oceans. They love learning gross and weird facts about animals. They can't believe that the ancient cultures invented things that we still use today; and they are amazed by the stories of how some of the monuments are created.
Once students get their hands on these books, they'll be clamoring for more!
The DK Find out! series will appeal to students of all ages, since it is full of vibrant photographs, appealing text, and eye catching graphs that will appease their quest for knowledge.
