Financial Literacy, Down to Its Basics! Part 1

My Students

Every year, I get a new group of four- and five-year-olds who are eager to learn. They love exploring the world around them and learning about how things work. My students love fairies, trucks, animals, rocks, dirt, princesses, sports, and many other things. I love teaching this age group because I know I can start their school career off in a positive way.

It is so important for students to love coming to school every day and that won't happen if they are expected to do worksheets.

I try to make sure my lessons are engaging and hands-on. I get to lay the foundation for these students that every teacher after me will add on to. I am so lucky to be able to have the honor of working with our youngest students.

My Project

I want to do a lot more carpet time activities to help my students to explore their understanding of math and numbers. I am planning on using this bench on my carpet for whole group activities. This bench will raise some students up, while the other can sit on the floor and everyone will be able to see what we are learning. I love working with my students on the carpet, but I always run into the problem of them not being able to see. This bench will help to solve that problem for us. I will then be able to create whole group math activities that all of my students will be able to enjoy and learn from. Thank you so much for your help in giving us this new environment to learn about Financial Learning.
