Every moment is a learning adventure in kindergarten. All learning is new and exciting. My students have so much fun experiencing every aspect of their day. From learning their letters and numbers, to experiencing joy at simple things like recognizing their name for the first time. There is always something exciting happening in kindergarten.
Truly, everything you need to know you learn in kindergarten.
We are working together to build a community of learners with a foundation of kindness and compassion. We are learning core life skills such as share, take turns, clean up after yourself, honesty is the best policy, be respectful, be safe, and be kind.
We are tactile learners, experiencing everything through hands-on exploration. When we are able to experience it ourselves, first hand, we truly understand.
My Project
Having games like 'Money Bingo' that teach about money earning and spending will help my students start to understand how money works. Kindergartners learn most through play and practice.
Students practice earning and spending money in our classroom store to help them learn money management skills.
Earning and saving money helps students practice their math skills of addition and subtraction. Having a cash register with play money will allow my students to see how much items cost and learn the value of money.
Games like the "The Allowance Game" and the Lakeshore Classroom Money Kit will help teach students the value of money and that it doesn't grow on trees. Also, that when you earn money you need to save for future needs. The dry erase boards will allow my students to write and show their answers then erase and repeat.
The Magna-Tiles blocks will allow my students to practice trading and sharing with each other. Lego's Math Train, Wild Animal Set, Wheels Set, Build Me Emotions and World People Set will allow all my students to build together while learning. Legos help students with counting, organizing and management skills. We need the Lego storage bins to help keep us organized and to allow my students to be independent when cleaning up since everything will have it own place.
