This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Smart Savers project aims to teach young students the basics of financial literacy through engaging activities that promote saving, budgeting, and responsible spending. By integrating fun, hands-on experiences, students will learn how to manage their money effectively while preparing for real-world financial scenarios. Students will earn money by completing work and tasks in the classroom. Students can deposit their money or cash out weekly. They will be able to save for items they want to purcahse from the school store.

By the end of the project, students will have a foundational understanding of financial concepts, feel empowered to manage their own money, and appreciate the value of saving and budgeting.

They will also gain practical experience in spending wisely, preparing them for future financial responsibilities.

This project is an exciting opportunity to equip elementary students with vital financial skills that will serve them throughout their lives. By making learning about money fun and interactive, we aim to instill a sense of financial responsibility and confidence in our young learners.
