My Project

During class sessions, I aim to engage students in the calculation of various financial scenarios. However, a notable challenge has emerged, stemming from students' reliance on their cell phones. Once in possession of these devices, students frequently become entangled in entertainment and diversion, detracting from the lesson. While some families may not recognize the necessity for standalone calculators, the prevailing distraction in the classroom warrants a thoughtful solution.

To address this challenge and elevate the overall learning environment, my intention is to provide students with dedicated calculation devices.

This strategic initiative is designed to eliminate potential distractions arising from mobile phones, enabling students to channel their focus exclusively toward the assigned tasks. The incorporation of basic, two-line calculators would be a beneficial addition to our classroom. By introducing these devices, students not only distance themselves from the allure of their cell phones but also gain a more concentrated understanding of mathematical calculations.

I firmly believe that the integration of these two-line calculation devices is essential. This belief is rooted in the observed instances of students inaccurately using their cell phones for calculations. Common issues include inputting incorrect numbers due to haste, a reluctance to show work and inadvertent errors. Consequently, I am convinced that these calculators will not only mitigate distractions but also serve as invaluable tools for fostering accurate and effective mathematical learning experiences in our classroom.
