Film Studies Level III: From Script to Screen!

Help me give my students basic three-point video lighting kit and a light wand stick so they have the fundamental tools to improve their film productions.

My Project

These items go to support the work of my Level III Film Studies students. These are the kids who have stayed with the program for three years, and have moved beyond identifying film techniques to producing their own short films. For their final project, two teams of student filmmakers will be immersed in the entire process of filmmaking. Students will adapt an existing screenplay or write their own script, plan, shoot, edit, and screen their final cut.

The class has done great work with the tools they have, making the most out of their environment and creatively applying what they have learned but I'd like to see what they could do with better equipment.

This is our first year with a class specifically for Level III film students, and our students have made the most of natural lighting, reflectors, and their cell phones (and the one student who owns a decent Cannon).

Three-point lighting is an essential part of shooting indoor scenes, and with this lighting kit the students will be able to advance their level of filmmaking. Later, we will be raising funds for a classroom camera in the future, but the most immediate improvement that can be made is improved lighting capacity. Donors Choose will help make that possible.
