This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Imagine a classroom where every child can choose the seat that helps them learn best, whether it’s wiggling to stay focused, curling up with a book, or gathering close for a story. This year, I want my first and second-grade students to have that choice with flexible seating. I’ve taught these students before. They are strong community builders learning to work independently and collaboratively. With a carpet for gathering during read-alouds, comfy floor seats for buddy reading, and wobble stools for small groups, our classroom will be a place where every student can focus and learn. Help us make read-aloud time, whether at the carpet or their desks, accessible and engaging for all.
