Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In my dual language classroom, all of my students tackle linguistic and academic challenges every day. Challenges can be tough to handle! My positive-behavior incentive system (PBIS) helps my students learn that it is OK to try and their effort will always be rewarded. Students can "buy" rewards every two weeks.
Help stock my prize buckets and help my students stay focused on their goals and the hard work it takes to achieve them!
I use a color-coded ticket system. Students earn blue tickets during our English block, and red tickets during our Spanish block. Math and English Language Arts are taught in English, so students earn blue tickets for participation, work completion, and risk taking in those subjects. During Spanish block, students study science, social studies, and Spanish Language Arts. Just like in English block, students are rewarded for achieving their academic goals in Spanish.
