Fifth Graders Working Toward the Future!

My students need three lap desks and three sets of headphones to make our classroom function efficiently.

My Students

My students are fifth graders in a large elementary school who need to be prepared to learn and compete in a twenty-first century world. Unfortunately, our school budget leaves us behind the times. It cannot provide us with all of the materials we need to move forward in this day and age.

My new fifth grade class will be expected to learn in a flexible seating type of environment, simulating a real life workplace.

In order to accomplish this, I will need to make some significant changes to my classroom environment.

My Project

These items will help my classroom be more user friendly. The students will be able to get more work done and find a space where they can concentrate while others are working on different tasks. I am looking to provide a safe, organized and welcoming classroom for my students to have motivating and meaningful learning experiences.

These items will also help me with setting up a more flexible classroom so that we can move students around easily allowing them to do group work and individual work.

This will promote better transitions for the class and make it possible for me to give the students movement around the class. For example, the laptop desks will allow my students to sit quietly and work undisturbed throughout the day. The headphones and laptops desks will provide a comfortable way for them to concentrate and complete tasks.
