My Project

My students come from a variety of backgrounds and a community that is socioeconomically diverse. Many of them struggle with disabilities including anxiety, depression, ADHD and other executive functioning concerns. My office is a safe space for many students who may be having a bad day or going through a difficult time in their lives.

Having access to a variety of fidgets and other materials provides and outlet for students who are feeling overwhelmed or having difficulties with concentrating and allows them to re-center and focus.

This will help reduce their time out of class and also give them additional tools for nervous energy or outlets to calm down. Additionally, having a variety of fidgets will provide students with options, including some that they are able to bring with them back to class.

The impact of this project will immediately be felt by our students. Your support will make it possible for me to provide these fidget options and materials to my students to help support their mental health.
