Fiber Arts : Finger Knitting

Help me give my students experiences using fiber arts to develop fine motor skills, experience joy, concentration and creating a piece of finger knitting.

My Project

When my super second graders see the yarn in our room, they are drawn to it's beauty and interested in learning to finger knit. So, I show them and when they see their success, they can celebrate a growth mindset.

This growth mind set then translates to other areas of our class like reading and solving multiple step story problems during math.

Fiber arts provides a time to relax while listening to a story and to feel joy in creating a piece of three dimensional art to wear, to use as a decoration or to give as a gift.

The case to keep the yarn organized and easy to share will provide me with more time to teach and less time wrangling yarn.
