My Students

My students are hands-on learners and deep thinkers. They thrive in learning environments that offer high-interest and creative opportunites. Their ideas are inspiring and, often, beyond their years. They absolutely love any chance to share with and learn from one another. They truly never cease to amaze me!

Incorporating STEM learning activities and opportunities is essential to adequately prepare students for jobs in the 21st century.

My students love to create and test their ideas, and this project will provide the perfect way to do just that.

My Project

Using the picture book, Mr. Ferris and His Wheel, students will learn how this iconic invention came to be while critically examining informational text.

In response to learning about this mechanical marvel, they will plan, design, construct, and test their own Ferris Wheel design according to specific criteria.

Using Picasso Magnetic Ferris Wheel Tiles, students can try a myriad of possibilities before deciding on the exact design that best meets project requirements.

Applying STEM principals to demonstrate learning will give my students a practical, hands-on opportunity to demonstrate understanding. Having the tiles available will facilitate construction and functionality of the designs.
