My Project

Working with children who have physical or mental disability is very rewarding. Teaching students to help regulate their feelings is important so they can think before they act. Children need modeling and worlds of encouragement in order to learn to self-regulate.

Thank you for helping me and all the students I work with.

Printing visuals like break cards or social and emotional feelings signs, helps our student visually. After printing the signs, I need the laminating paper to laminate them. Laminate them allows me to keep the item for years to come.

When children are overwhelmed, stress balls and sensory items will help my students. To help children regulate their feelings, we use timers, which allows them to see a visual reminder of how long they get a break for and then continue their classroom work. The feelings chart will help at our sensory table with more visuals they need. I also use fidget toy animals in my classroom. Learning to care and love an animal is something the students look forward to. Thank you again for all your help!
