Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are vibrant. My students are energetic. My students are diverse. They are passionate, enduring, and have the future at their fingertips. My students contribute to their school and community, but they are also at a disadvantage.

The school hosts an over 93 percent population that is on free or reduced-price lunch, making us a Title I school.

With a high population on free or reduced-price lunches, COVID-19 has added hurdles to an already fragile group. It has been shown that students living in poverty are more at risk to underperform academically, in comparison with higher income peers. Despite the disadvantage, my students deserve the chance to thrive!

My Project

We host a large amount of students that are eligible for free or reduced lunch. When they come to school, they are able to be fed but when they go home they may not have snacks and food. That is why in my proposal, I am hoping to get students snacks and portable meals to take home.

Help me make sure my students are not hungry.

In my project I am looking to be able to provide the following to our students: Pop Tarts Toaster Pastries, Velveeta Shells and Cheese, Cheetis Crunchy Flamin' Hot, Annie's Real Aged Cheddar Macoroni and Cheese, Lance Captain's Wafers Cream Cheese and Chives, Dunkin Original blend, Bumble Bee Snack on the Run, Frito-Lay Variety Pack, Chef Boyardee Pasta, Doritos Cool Ranch, Frito Lay Fiery Mix, Oreo Chocloate Sandwich, Starburst FaveReds, Chef Boyardee Beef in Tomato, Ruffles Potato Chips variety, Little debbie Variety Pack, Kraft Original Macaroni and Cheese, Bestrpresso Coffee, and Quaker Chewy Granola bars. In funding this project, we can make sure many students have something to eat when they go home.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
