Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are what bring me joy every day because teaching them is what I dreamed of doing ever since I was in elementary school. Most of my kids come from homes where there is only one parent present or they are being raised by another family member, and often times they are expected to grow up fast. What I love the most about them is that they are full of life and happiness and have a desire to learn.

My Project

With the food provided through this project I will be able to provide snacks for my kids on a daily basis. Many of my kids come to school without snacks and often have to wait until the next meal time to eat.

When a student’s basic needs are met is when they learn best, so these snacks for my kids will make a huge difference.

When a kid comes to school hungry or lacking in other basic needs they are not able to focus on their learning, so my hope is to provide them with at least one basic need so they can learn in my class.
